The Presidential Spokesperson on the President attending the Arangkada Philippines Forum, January 26, 2012

Statement of Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda:
On President Aquino attending the Arangkada Philippines Forum
[Released on January 26, 2012]

This afternoon, the President will deliver the keynote address at “Arangkada” Philippines’ first anniversary forum. This undertaking of the Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines takes place at the Grand Ballroom, Marriot Hotel, Manila, with foreign and Philippine investors, representatives from international aid organizations, diplomats, government officials, industry experts, and business associations in attendance. Panels of experts will also discuss priority policies and programs to propel the top sectors of the country.

President Aquino is steadfast in his commitment to fulfilling his goal of accelerating investments and economic growth, to create jobs that last, in an environment conducive to maintaining the forward momentum of the economy. We believe that a major component of sustained growth lies in its being inclusive, with government having identified three priority sectors: tourism, infrastructure, and agriculture, all of which have a high capacity to promote inclusive growth.

With equitable progress and inclusive growth as the driving principle of the Aquino government, we believe that the success of these priority sectors will redound to the benefit of the common Filipino not just tomorrow, but today.
