In a statement on Wednesday, Cebu Pacific said it will increase its Clark-Cebu-Clark and Clark-Hong Kong-Clark flights from three to six times and seven to 10 times weekly, respectively, starting Dec. 16.

With the additional flights starting December, Cebu Pacific will operate 27 flights weekly from Clark in Pampanga to Cebu, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore. At present, the airline operates 21 weekly flights from Clark.

“As one of CEB’s (Cebu Pacific) six strategic hubs in the country, CEB will continue to grow Clark to serve the needs of North and Central Luzon. The additional frequencies and further investments strengthen our commitment to the development of the country’s airports,” CEB Vice-President for Corporate Affairs Paterno S. Mantaring, Jr. was quoted as saying in the statement.

He added that Cebu Pacific is expecting the “progression of flight and ground operations at Clark as well as a furthering of incentives that Clark will offer to the carriers.”

From January to July this year, Cebu Pacific saw its passengers traveling to and from Clark reach 190,000. In 2015, the airline reported the number of passengers at Clark hit 300,000.

Meanwhile, in a separate advisory, Cebu Pacific and Cebgo said several domestic flights have been canceled on Wednesday and on Sept. 21 due to the extended closure of runway 06/20 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

From 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. on Sept.r 20 and 21, pavements of the ramp will be under maintenance and repair causing the cancellation of the following flights:

Cebu Pacific said customers who are unable to take the flights may either rebook their flights within 30 days from original departure date or make a full refund or travel fund, both without additional charges.

“We sincerely hope for our passengers’ understanding, as these cancellations were due to factors beyond the airline’s control,” it said.
