According to NEDA Deputy Director General Rosemarie G. Edillon, the draft of the national plan is finished and will be presented to the president on Feb. 20.

“Yes, we’re done with the final PDP draft,” Ms. Edillon said in a text message. “We have a summary but we’ll be ready to present details if requested.”

Once the development plan is approved by the president, NEDA will be asking Mr. Duterte to mandate all government agencies to bring their programs and projects in line with the PDP.

“We are asking for an EO requiring all of government to align all programs and projects to the PDP,” said Ms. Edillon.

“DBM (Department of Budget and Management) will also issue a budget circular to that effect,” she added.

NEDA, meanwhile, will be in charge of disseminating the PDP to the regions and local governments.

NEDA will also “assist agencies in elaborating this in their plans and budget,” said Ms. Edillon.

Once the feedback from the regions has been collected, NEDA will then come up with the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022, which NEDA Deputy Director-General Adoracion M. Navarro said will go hand-in-hand with the national strategy.
