PH antitrust body ‘doing a good job,’ European trade group says
MANILA – The Philippine Competition Commission is “doing a good job” at breaking monopolies the country, the head of a European trade group said on Wednesday.
“It’s very positive that there’s a large body that looks over it and starts to look into the monopolistic nature of how we do business in our lives in the last 30 years in the Philippines,” European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines president Guenter Taus said.
The antitrust body, who took after the European Competition Commission, should impose stricter fines to apprehend violators of antitrust laws, he said.
