The Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines released the following statement in light of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s appointment of Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara as Education Secretary:

“We send our warmest congratulations to Senator Angara on his appointment as the new Secretary of Education. In his two terms as Senator, he has championed crucial legislation to improve the Philippine investment climate. We believe Secretary Angara will channel that same dedication towards championing and implementing much-needed educational reforms.

The JFC recognizes the crucial role of education in equipping young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a more globalized market. We look forward to collaborating with Secretary Angara and the Department of Education to further improve the education, workforce, and economy of the Philippines.”
