Initial talks on Charter change made

This is an article repost.

PRESIDENT BENIGNO S. C. Aquino III yesterday said that changes in the Constitution were initially discussed during the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting, but there was no decision made on the issue.

“We just tackled that on a peripheral basis. There were slight discussions on the economic provisions of the Constitution that is not yet ready for, as I said, for prime time,” said the President in a briefing after the meeting.

“We will still have to discuss the particular details,” he added.

The issue was revived by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile during remarks at the opening session of Congress on July 25. — JPDP
