Mr. Hyunchong “Joseph” Um is the 16th president of the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines, (KCCP) Inc. He is also the chairman of Samdo Group of Companies with its subsidiaries in the sectors of Samdo Philippines Corp., Samdo Multimedia, Samdo E-learning and Voim English Corp. located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City & Cebu City over 20 years. For his earlier career, he served as the managing director of Lagunatech Corporation that manufactured wire harness & electronic assembly in Laguna and Taichi Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan.
He also served as one of the KCCP directors from 2001-2021 and a member of Overseas Korean Traders Association (OKTA) in the Philippines since 2000. Currently he is vice chairperson of International School Manila (ISM) Sustaining Members. He took his Bachelor of Science major in Mechanical Engineering – Design in Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, USA.
