A Mass Communications graduate from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, and a Master of Public Administration from Notre Dame University. She is an outstanding completer of various programs on media and trade from USA and Australia respectively, and courses on skills management by the International Labor Organization and US Agency for International Development.
She started her career as a radio and television announcer, and a university professor. She then joined the government through the Department of Trade & Industry, the Department of Tourism, and now the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
She has served as a Resource Person for international talks in South Korea, China and ASEAN countries, and she has co-produced papers such as Sustaining the Gains of the Peace Process, Health Beyond the Bounds of Conflict, and Integration of Gender and Development in Media Production, among others.
In DTI, she served as the Project Director for the Philippine Skills Framework Initiative, wherein she initiated Curricular Reforms at the PTTC and led the Institutional Reforms of Industry Skills Matching, engaging thousands of industry stakeholders and academic institutions.
Her stint at the DOT transformed SOCCSKSARGEN into a Next in Mind destination, registering 800 thousand tourist arrivals when she joined, and leaving with a record high of over 4 million tourists each year. At the head office, she also led the institutionalization of national programs.
Now starting her career as a newly-appointed Deputy Director General in TESDA, she is pursuing the establishment of more Industry Boards, Enterprise-Based Training, and Community-Based TVET.
She possesses both passion and commitment to manage and execute effective operations, while ensuring a strong link between national policies and regional concerns. Her dedication has led to her being recognized as a Declared Woman Leader, and a recipient of the Crystal International Women, Ulirang Ina, and Outstanding Teduray Achiever Awards.
With over 30 years of experience in leadership and public service, she continues to connect the regions of the Philippines with each other and with the rest of the world.
