Atty. Michael T. Toledo is the incumbent Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Chairman and President, Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, COO, Silangan Mindanao Mining Corp., Board Member, AFP and PAF, Multi Sectoral Council (MSGC), and Head, MVP Group of Companies Media Bureau.
He started his legal career at the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices, one of the country’s premier law firms.
He has a wealth of experience in serving as a Board Member of both public and private institutions, including the Government Service Insurance System, Manila International Airport Authority, National Food Authority, Philippine Aviation Security Services Corp., Food Terminal, Inc., Department of Transportation and Communications, and Cagayan Economic Zone Authority. He also served as Chairman for Pantranco North Express.
He also has an impressive background in communications. He is a columnist for the Philippine Star. He was also a news anchor in TV5’s The Big News, and a host in OneNewsPH’s Titans and GMA’s Business Today.
He was named the 2014 CEO Excel Awardee by the International Association of Business Communication, and the Distinguished Bedan for 2019 in Media and Communications by the San Beda Alumni Association. He also received the 2019 Most Distinguished Alumni Award for College of Arts and Sciences by the University of the Philippines Manila Alumni Association, and the University of the Philippines Junior Marketing Association 2018 Leadership Award.
He was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the British government and the British Alumni Association. He was also appointed as the UK Education Ambassador to the Philippines.
Atty. Toledo obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of the Philippines. He earned his Master of Laws in Public International Law as a Chevening scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was also accepted at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Boston.
