Early in his service, he was involved in several key projects covering maritime transport, airport development, port modernization, and mass transit initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his reappointment to the Railways Sector, he served as Undersecretary for Planning and Project Development for three years, during which he significantly accelerated the rollout of infrastructure projects\u2014contributing to a marked increase in awarded rail contracts, securing \u20b11.5 billion in Official Development Assistance, and driving improvements in project disbursement and execution.<\/p>\n<p>As the Undersecretary for Railways, he oversees the country\u2019s largest and most ambitious rail infrastructure program, which aims to expand the existing 276 kilometers of railway lines to 1,233 kilometers.
