The House of Representatives today approved on third reading ten significant measures of national socio-economic and political importance, including HB 5286 that sets a national competition policy.
“While the focus now is on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the House continues to take a full view of other vital priorities which respond to our primary goal of pushing inclusive development in the country,” Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. stressed today after the House passed 28 measures of national concern and 40 local bills. Five national bills and four local bills were likewise approved on 2nd reading.
The bigger chamber likewise approved on second reading HB 5588 – “An Act facilitating the acquisition of right of way site or location for national government infrastructure projects.”
Among those approved on final reading were:
1) HB 5286 – An Act promoting a National Competition Policy for the Philippines, prohibiting anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominant position and anti-competitive measures and acquisitions, establishing the Philippine Competition Commission and appropriating funds therefor;
2) HB 5610 – An Act allowing foreign vessels to transport and co-load foreign cargoes for domestic transshipment and for other purposes;
3) HB 5060 – An Act establishing the Filipino Identification System;
4) HB 5605 – An Act establishing a career Guidance and Counseling Program for all secondary schools;
5) HB 5604 – An Act providing for the establishment of senior high schools in all legislative districts;
6) HB 5603 – An Act promoting the entrepreneurship and financial literacy program among the Filipino youth by instituting mechanisms and strategies;
7) HB 5585 – An Act providing for a Comprehensive Hazardous and Radioactive Wastes Management;
8) HB 5520 – An Act strengthening the procedure for registration of voters during barangay elections, amending for the purpose R.A. No. 9189, “The Voters Registration Act of 1996”;
9) HB 5487 – An Act providing for the establishment of the Archipelagic Sea Lanes in the Philippine Archipelagic waters, prescribing the rights and obligations of foreign ships and aircrafts exercising the right of Archipelagic Sea Lanes Passage; and
10) HB 5231 – An Act requiring the registration of all users of prepaid SIM cards.
