House set to halt RH debates in effort to pass measure

THE HOUSE leadership will force a vote to terminate the debates on the controversial reproductive health (RH) bill when Congress resumes session on May, a ranking leader said.

The voting, however, will only mean possible termination of debates, paving the way for introduction of amendments to the measure. Second and third reading approval will follow thereafter.

Majority Leader Neptali M. Gonzales II (Mandaluyong City) said that if lawmakers vote to continue with the debates, “the RH bill will not likely pass this Congress.”
