JFC Meeting with DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade at the Department of Transportation, Clark Pampanga

The Joint Foreign Chambers (JFC) met with Department of Transportation Secretary Tugade and most of his undersecretaries at the DOTr office at Clark, Pampanga on April 8, 2019.

The foreign chambers had a broad-ranging discussion with Sec. Tugade including plans for modernizing airports, railroads, and seaports to support the high growth rate of the Philippine economy. Several legislative measures pending before the current Congress and supported by the JFC were discussed, including amendments to the Public Service Act, creation of the National Transportation Safety Board, the Emergency Power on Traffic Crisis and Congestion Act of 2016, and amendments to the CAAP and PPA charters. Also, the updated Infrastructure Tracker on the Arangkada website which follows most major projects of the DOTr and the Build, Build, Build program was presented and received the secretary’s approval. Following the meeting, the JFC delegation visited New Clark City and the new Clark International Airport terminal which is more than 50% complete. The new terminal should be finished in time to meet the rapidly rising demand from passengers using Clark, projected to reach four million by the end of 2019. ###
