MAP Continues its Partnership with CHED

This is a re-posted statement.

The MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (MAP) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to undertake the following under a strong synergy of Government – Industry – Academe (GIA) platform within a policy environment of Public-Private Partnership (PPP):

1. Leveling of demand and supply of graduates in tertiary education
2. Identifying growth sectors and key employment generators in the economy
3. Matching of learning outcomes with industry standards
4. Meeting competency expectations for employment locally and abroad
5. Aligning curriculum and admission in tertiary education along GIA priorities
6. Linking with industry apprenticeship and other forms of pre-employment training
7. Investing in tertiary education institutions, both public and private
8. Promoting development of idle land/sea grants in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), whose proceeds shall be used for development and strengthening of the concerned SUC.

MAP encourages its members and other businessmen to enter into joint ventures with SUCs for the profitable development and management of the economic assets of the concerned SUCs.

MAP recognizes the key role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the global market; hence, MAP continues to cooperate with CHED in a number of programs linking the academe with business and industry towards excellence in education and management for global competitiveness.

MAP firmly believes that quality and relevant higher education is essential to the long-term solutions to national concerns and global challenges relating to employment, ecology, energy, food production adequacy, national security, governance, among others.

We strongly encourage the government and the private sector to fully support the above cited initiatives of CHED and MAP.
