IMD’s World Competitiveness Criterion of the Month for June 2011 is the availability of internationally experienced senior managers. The IMD business school believes that “the need for such global managers becomes crucial when emphasizing investment abroad as a new path for competitiveness.” When building a nation’s competitiveness, they say size also matters — smaller nations depend on the globalization of their enterprises.
