To further widen its reach around the globe, TFC recently inked a partnership with YouTube, the world’s most popular medium for discovering, watching and sharing videos, especially among Filipinos.
As a global Filipino company, TFC is known for its pioneering efforts to provide news and entertainment via traditional and new media. In its commitment to serve and connect overseas Filipinos and their families, it created other useful products and services to address their evolving needs. With close to two decades of being present worldwide, the company has been successful in transforming lives through shared experiences made possible by multiple touch points like telecommunications, on-ground events, remittance, cable, satellite, IPTV, mobile and on-line.
Ahead of its time, TFCnow was cited by the Wall Street Journal Asia Survey in 2007 for its innovative use of technology in reaching out to its target audiences. At TFCnow.abs-cbn.com, viewers are able to watch programs via the internet at any time and place that they choose.
As TFC partners with YouTube for the launch of its Philippine website, TFC participates in another pioneering effort to provide convenient access to original and high-quality Philippine content from anywhere in the world.
By visiting YouTube Philippines, users can watch some of TFC’s teleserye episodes in full and absolutely for free. They can also access headlines from Balitang Global gathered by TFC’s international news bureaus in North America, Middle East and Europe and share their own videos directly with TFC. Surfers can visit TFCnow to watch more free episodes and access TFC’s complete premium content.
“We’re excited to announce TFC’s partnership with YouTube because it is a major milestone not just for TFC but for our country,” said ABS-CBN Global Chief Operating Officer Raffy Lopez. “The launch of a YouTube specifically for the Philippine market further allows TFC to virtually gather the growing yet dispersed overseas Filipinos around the world and provide a venue for strengthening ties with family and the community,” he continued. “It also recognizes that our country is fast becoming a digital hub and our people as fantastic optimizers of new media which, when used properly, will greatly help in nation-building,” he uttered with enthusiasm.
To formally announce the launch of YouTube Philippines and its partnership with TFC, a press event will be held at the Blue Leaf Pavilion, McKinley Hill Village, Taguig City this Thursday (October 13).
