On September 15, 2011 (Thursday), a half-day conference “The Future of the Justice System in the Philippines: Options and Outlook” will be held by the Center for Philippine Futuristic Studies and Management at Function Rooms 1-4, AIM Conference Center, Makati City.
The conference, headlined by keynote speaker Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, will cover the following topics: a) the vision-mission of the Aquino administration; b) the historical background of the Philippine justice system; c) the present practice – law enforcement, legal or court procedures, justice dispensation and the court hierarchies; d) the strength and weaknesses of the present justice system; and e) remedies for the weakness and the recommendations for the medium term future.
The Futuristics Center operates a neutral forum or platform for public discussion and publication of ideas about the future. These gatherings take the form of lectures, seminars, conferences, and roundtable discussions, the output of which include recommendations and alternative scenarios for the immediate, intermediate and long-term future as required without advancing any particular ideologies.
The Futuristics Center is a non-stock, non-profit private domestic association dedicated to futures research, studies and program to enrich public understanding of the broader problems and issues of Philippine national development issues and to generate positive options for the future.
