Wei Siong joined Mastercard in June 2014 and is Vice President, Government Affairs & Policy. In his role, Wei Siong advises the company on government and public policy matters and drives public policy engagements with government authorities in the region. He also manages relationships with a broad range of third-party entities such as business chambers and associations, consumer groups, NGOs, institutions and thought leaders, to profile the company and raise public awareness to the value of card and digital payments.
Prior to joining Mastercard, Wei Siong was with Harley-Davidson and British American Tobacco. He started his career as a civil servant in Singapore. During his 10-year service with the Singaporean Government, he was privileged to have served for four years as a diplomat based in Jakarta advocating for the interests of Singapore-based companies.
Wei Siong graduated from the National University of Singapore and holds an MBA awarded by the Leeds University. He speaks a few languages, enjoys reading, travelling and music.
