We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of John D. Forbes, and join all who knew him in mourning his passing.
John cared deeply for the Philippines and genuinely believed in the potential of the country and its people. Anyone who has spent time with him can attest to the dedication, enthusiasm, and passion with which he pursued reforms for the country to achieve its full potential.
Among his many accomplishments were forging and bringing together the American, Australian-New Zealand, Canadian, European, Japanese, and Korean Chambers, and PAMURI to establish the Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines; authorship of the Arangkada Philippines 2010 and starting the Arangkada Philippines Project – the blueprint for reforms supported by the JFC; and being the founding and long-time Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee. Through his work with the JFC, Arangkada, AmCham, and other capacities, he worked tirelessly to achieve reforms to improve the competitiveness of the country and better the lives of its citizens.
We will always remember him as an invaluable colleague, appreciated mentor, good friend, great man, and an unwavering advocate for the Philippines.
